My hair is a mix of curly, wavy and straight. No one product seams to work. Half of my hair will be straight as a board, with curls in the back and frizz mixed in. It’s thick, but baby fine. Dishwater blonde, but most people say brown — it’s anything but brown. I have both blonde and red mixed in and have not used hair dye in 10 years. Any suggestions?

Here’s my question: I love what the ice shine line makes my hair look like: very glossy and smooth. I’m even more excited that the ice shine line has come out with a volumizing mousse. Here’ what I need to know: is it ok to mix and match if need be? The regular conditioner for ice line doesn’t deeply conditon my hair and scalp enough and is it ok to use the volumizing line for the hairspray while using the ice shine shampoo and mousse?? HELP! I have very thin/fine hair that can also be described as sensitive, especially the scalp due to things like coloring I’ve done over the years.

I am 53 yrs old, but don’t look. I have long hair that goes to the middle of my back, it is straight and colored pale blone, which is my natural color, but is starting to gray a little, I do the roots every 6 weeks, my hair is very very thick and I have to wash it every other day. I want a drastic change as my hair is all over the house. I want to keep it long, I wear it up in a pony tail and when I curl it, I have to use 2 sets of hot rollers.
Question is this: What kind of cut is appropriate for a 53 yr old, I am very nervous about getting it cut and not being able to put it up in an elastic? My mother says that long hair on a woman over 50 looks awful, is this true.

I have very curly hair and I don’t know what to do with it. It seems to get damaged very easily and I don’t have a whole lot of time to spend on it because I am the mother of a very active one year old. What can I do to keep my hair under control and not so frizzy, that won’t take a lot of time?

I wanted to find out how the Pantene’s Volume product works. I love volume in my hair but do not like the stiff feeling some products give you. I wish there was a product that can give you volume but it can still have the flow of moving your hair around naturally.
Thanks Debbie

I have very curly hair and it is shoulder length. I can’t find an appropriate product that will keep the frizz down and the curls in place. I don’t mind the curl but the frizz drives me nuts!!!! I tend to have alot of frizz in the back. Also, can’t figure out how to cut my hair. My husband loves long hair and I also love the long length. I think curls look beautiful with long hair. What can I do to make my hair more manageable starting with shampoos and styling products. I don’t have much time to work with my hair. Work full time and have 3 boys.

I have curly hair that has good volume, except on top. I use a root booster (Redken Guts), but still look a bit like a triangle. Also, if I don’t use a good holding hairspray the curls fall out and my hair looks a bit stringy after about two hours. Any suggestions on how to hold the look without being so stiff and getting and keeping the volume on top to match the rest?

HELP! I hate my hair. It is very curly/frizzy in the back and straighter in the front (shoulder length). I have to curl the front to match the back. I style it and go to work and by 9am the style is way different than I left the house. Frizz everywhere!! What can I do to control this mess?! PS I love volume, not the frizz and have tried just about every product out there. I don’t like the diffuser look either.
Thanks so much! Stacy.

I have very straight thin hair. There’s lots of hairs but they are very thin and we have very soft water at home. If I don’t condition my hair it will tangle so I feel like I’m putting extra weight that makes it even straighter. I do not blow dry or curl it so it is pretty healthy just very fine. It is not color treated and it is starting to grey which I am hoping will add some thickness. Any time I curl it or do anything with it I’m better off not using products because it falls anyway and then it has a pasted look like it was sprayed into place and then fell. Right now it is just below shoulder length. Emotionally I am a long haired person and need to be able to put it in a pony tail to get it off of my neck. Yes, I’m in my 40s and I get hot, plus I live in Texas where it is hot enough already. Here I am stuck with straight fine hair. Can you help me figure out how to add some volume and fullness or at least the illusion of volume and fullness?

So not pretty. I have tried all kinds of cremes, serums, shampoos and conditioners. Also, all kinds of blowdryers and diffusers. I straighten my hair now, but I would love to be able to wear my natural curls again. HELP!!

My hair is long (past my shoulders) straight and thick. It is the healthiest it has ever been and I attribute it to the Pantene products I have used for the past 7 years. The last perm I had 3 months ago only gave it some body, but my hair still does not hold curl past 2 or 3 hours. I use Pantene Sheer Volume Shampoo, Hydrating Curls Conditioner and Curl Lock Hair Spray. I have tried the Curl Defining Spray Gel and Body Builder Volumizing Gel, but they both seem to make my hair stiff and hard to comb or brush. I usually keep my hair in a pony tail, but the times I want to have it curly (for church, dining out, etc.) makes me frustrated that it takes me quite a while to curl it in hot rollers only to have it droop within a few hours.

I have fine but thick hair in spots, especially the crown area. I just recently went to a cut to thin and emphasis a texture cut especially at the ends, chin length. I have been using a flat iron to achieve this look, what products are best without overdoing the products (I do use the Pantene texturize shampoo) to end up looking limp.

Also, is there a hair color that won’t damage my hair? What kind of shampoo and conditioner should I use for hair like this?
Thanks.

I’m 47 yrs old with curly hair. In 1980 while living in Minneapolis curly hair came back and I was FREE!! Back then I didn’t use anything on my hair, just washed and went. I hate spending money on stuff like that (girl products). For the last 4 years I’v used Pantene (a big expense for me but my Mom came to visit and I used hers and like it). When the Hydrating Curls cames out I bought that and love it. I don’t blow dry or anything, just condition everyday, shampoo a couple time a week, use LA Looks strong hold when hair is wet and I’m done (would use Pantene curl gel but go through it too quickly). My issue, my hair does not get longer. I know it grows due to my gray roots that I dye. Pantene now has a new product out that is suppose to help to grow hair that I’d like to try but I also want my hydrating curls. Oh, BTW I live in Florida – another hazard for curly hair! Just wish my hari would grow to be noticed. Any suggestions? Only comb hair once after shower every morning. Dont’ go for regular trims eithe, which I think might be your answer for me????
Ciao
