It’s official: Miley Cyrus is all grown up! The pop star has landed on the cover of the highly anticipated September issue of Marie Claire. Cyrus recently sat down with the magazine to share all of the details of her recent surprise engagement to Liam Hemsworth as the cover shoot took place just an hour after it was announced! Below are a few quotes from bride-to-be on Liam and living in the moment:

On her engagement ring:
I had no input.  We’d been kind of talking about getting engaged…I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty…I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.

On her young age and skeptics who believe she’ll end up divorced:
Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.

On her relationship with Liam:
Liam and I have a really good relationship…neither of us is super-jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other.
