Watch This: 5 New Les Mis Clips to Keep You Company ‘Til Christmas

After getting a sneak peek at the Les Miserables last week, we were dying to share anything we could for fans of the beloved musical. But over the weekend, several clips from the film were released. While in the first trailer we got to hear the vocal talents of Anne Hathaway, the clips take on a group effort to introduce newcomers to the all-singing epic. The first features Russell Crowe, who has a higher voice than many expected, as Inspector Javert who releases Hugh Jackman’s Jean Valjean from his slave labor sentence for stealing bread for his starving family. The second video is the first time we meet Hathaway’s Fantine, an unwed mother who is sexually harassed by the foreman of the factory that Valjean later owns under a new identity. Valjean confronts the prospect of turning himself in as a fugitive as Javert had previously accused him of being the parolee but begs for forgiveness when another man is suspected of being Valjean. We then get to hear Amanda Seyfried belt a high C as Fantine’s daughter Cosette in her song with her sweetheart Marius (Eddie Redmayne). Lastly, we get to see newcomer Samantha Barks as Eponine, the daughter of the thieving innkeepers the Thenardiers (Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen), sing in the rain about losing her love to another. We’re sure Les Mis fanatics and fans of the all-star cast are sure to be satiated for a bit until Christmas.
