GlamChic chatted with television personality and America’s Next Top Model judge J. Alexander or “Miss J” after Matthew Ames’ Fall 2009 Fashion Week show, and things got real. What advice would you give to make the most of Fashion Week and get through it smoothly?
Don’t accept the bull that people give you. And people will give you bull. It’s all about rank—who sits where, and so on. But I think you just have to accept it as fashion, and realize that everything is going to be just fine. Take a deep breath, and be as understanding as possible.

Do you manage to get any rest during this time?
Oh it’s so important to sleep when you can. I see these models who, you know, are twelve years old and 127 ounces heavy, and their schedule is so hectic doing multiple shows a day, and it can make you really tense. Today I saw this girl in an elevator and she was jamming the down button so many times over and over again, freaking out, and I just told her to calm down, honey in Russian. Oh, she was Russian.

Can you say “Calm down” in Russian right now?
Oh, no, I can’t. I might have actually said a dirty word in Russian. I can’t repeat. Young girls read Glam.com

But truly, You don’t have to make an appearance at every party. It’s not important. You’ve got to save up your energy for the things that are.
