Tonight Kate Moss and Justin Timberlake will join sponsor Marc Jacobs and Vogue’s Anna Wintour in hosting the Met’s Costume Institute’s annual gala, which in one night raises enough money to sustain the institute’s operations all year long. We managed to explore the halls and get a peek at tonight’s décor. We spotted thousands of white roses waiting to be arranged and cherry blossom trees cascading in the rotunda; aside from the traditional red carpet there is also yards of fierce zebra printed carpeting lining the entry path. A statuesque crème mannequin stands in the center presiding over the action. Though we are sure it will look impeccable this evening, there was something quite thrilling about catching the work in progress.
