For the upcoming Spring 2013 season Marimekko will bring us “color for a reason” — sending good riddance to winter and welcoming the seasons of bloom with the bright colors and patterns they rightly deserve! The collection, directed by Head of Fashion Design Noora Niinikoski, looks to color block, thinking in abstract art and the natural, layered tones of the Finnish landscape to rev up those stunning signature prints. Veteran models Pat Cleveland, Carol Alt, and Carmen Dell’Orefice vivaciously took the runway donning bold polka dotted hats and bright block print dresses. No question here folks; they’ve still got it!
