Style Scoop: Rob Pruitt for Jimmy Choo, Lockit with Louis Vuitton, Alexa Chung to Pen First Book
By Angel Lenise Robinson October 03,2012
118-year-old Barbour shoes are getting a West Coast revamp thanks to its latest collaboration with skate park favorite, Vans. The Barbour by Vans collection will feature the brand’s signature water-resistant waxing on three classic Van shoes and is available now for $90 to $110. [LA Times] Speaking of shoe collaborations, this one’s on the more colorful side of the spectrum. Rob Pruitt designed an 18-piece capsule collection for Jimmy Choo that features pom-pons, pandas, zebra stripes, leopard prints, and Swarovski crystals on shoes and accessories. The nostalgic designs are, of course, backed with very adult price tags: a $425 keychain, a $15,000 angel panda clutch, and an $850 smoking slipper, just to name a few. [Racked] Louis Vuitton Joaillerie is launching a “Lockit” collection inspired by eternal love. The 15-piece set will include the house’s padlock emblem on a range of white, rose, and yellow gold rings, bracelets, and necklaces. [WWD] Blogger Elin Kling not only designed an eponymous collection for Guess by Marciano, but she also’s stars in its campaign. She used to be a model, after all. [Grazia Daily] Alexa Chung, the author — kind of has a ring to it, right? The it-girl will release her first book next September.
