H&M has been committed to social and environmental responsibility by supporting organizations like WaterAid in its quest to improve access to clean water and hygiene in the world’s most impoverished communities. In honor of the brand’s decade of support, it’s releasing the H&M for Water collection filled with retro-Hawaiian surf styles for all members of the family using organic cotton and other sustainable materials. There are flirty skirts, bandeau tops, sexy swimwear, and accessories for women; shirts, shorts, sandals, and sunglasses for men; and matching separates for the little one – all in classic palm and floral surf-inspired prints. Fashionistas can help by snagging all of the summer essentials as 25% of all sales proceeds will benefit the non-profit.

Jason Wu and Karlie Kloss aren’t just a great party pair, they’re also a very magnanimous duo. The fabulous friends always take the time to make a difference. In spite of their hectic schedules, this month they’re teaming up for New York 2012 AIDS Walk on May 20th. With close friends and family comprising the group, team Step Forward is looking to garner as many donations as possible to benefit GMHC and other AIDS service organizations throughout the tri-state area. Both co-captains were equally thrilled about lending a helping hand to the organizations.

We may be gearing up for summer fun in the sun, but Target is thinking ahead. This week the retailer transformed the Hudson Hotel’s Hudson Bar in New York into a fall fashion fête. Models had an air of wanderlust donned in the season’s biggest trends with collections from brands like C9 by Champion, Converse One Star, Liz Lange, Merona, Mossimo Supply Co., Mossimo Black, Cherokee, and Circo with apparel and accessories for every member of the family. Animal and abstract prints paired with bright pops of color in a blend of different textures with subtle details dominated, allowing fashionistas and fledglings a chance to play with their wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Beauty babes weren’t left out in the cold as fall’s bold colors and moisturizing formulas from JK Jemma Kidd, NP Set, and Pixi were on display for guests to swatch to their heart’s content. Guests also sniffed the newest haircare offerings from Umberto Beverly Hills and began color-coordinating the new hair tools from Revlon set to hit shelves for the chillier season. Beyonce wins the award for the Met Gala’s most provocatively dressed. The new mommy was among the last to arrive at The 2012 Costume Institute Gala, but she certainly made an entrance. Beyonce was essentially nude when she hit the red carpet in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown. Riccardo Tisci created the long stretch illusion tulle dress, which was embroidered with black crystals, hand-cut lace motifs, and ostrich feathers in black and purple degrade. Beyonce clearly isn’t afraid to take a fashion risk and we imagine Elsa Schiaparelli would have loved to dress her.

Let The Devil Wears Prada references begin. Tonight Anna Wintour will be greeting her guests atop The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s iconic steps in a custom Prada gown. “I’m wearing Prada’s homage to Elsa Schiaparelli” the editrix said. It’s a fitting choice for the editrix as this evening’s festivities, which raised over $11 million for The Costume Institute, are in celebration of the museum’s latest exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. “They both believe in breaking the rules of fashion, which is something I believe in too,” said Wintour of the two female design talents.

Tonight marks the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations with the season’s most anticipated fashion extravaganza: The Costume Institute Gala. In honor of the occasion, Prada created a re-edition collection of the iconic handbags that have marked the brand’s illustrious history. The bags are reproduced in their original versions starting with the silk satin bag from 1991 and runs through the Savoy logo branded on brushed leather in 2005 and even features the Holiday and Brown prints from 2003 in the collection. These museum souvenirs may become scarce soon so snag them quickly!
The bags will be available exclusively in Prada’s New York boutiques for $995 – $2,950.

Fashion icon Anna Dello Russo is taking her flamboyant flair beyond fascinators. The Vogue Nippon editrix is the latest to partner with H&M on a capsule collection of accessories. With an emphasis on ornamentation, she’s adding her unique touch to jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags, and trolley that will debut during the height of the worldwide Fashion Week tour. Dello Russo was thrilled and humbled to be the first fashion director to collaborate with the retailer and credited her extensive styling résumé as a key component.
“I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find,” she said. “As a stylist, I know accessorization is essential; it is the personal touch in any outfit. With these pieces, everybody can have fun, and turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”
