I have a new favorite fabric company! The New York design house, Lost City, was founded about 5 years ago by Afshan Durrani and has been creating amazing fabrics ever since.
These creative masters find visual inspiration in everything from medieval paintings to poetry, giving each fabric a unique story. They think of each design as a work of art, resulting in bold and colorful fabrics that, while grounded in the past, are completely relevant and complementary for contemporary interiors.
The beauty of their designs is obvious, but even more special is their process. Described as “fabrics with a soul,” every bit of the process is done by hand, including the intricate embroidery, stitched by 125 artisans in Lucknow, India using centuries old Mogul techniques.
Most of Lost Art’s fabrics are on cotton ground, but they recently introduced a new collection of hand-embroidered silks. Stunning!!
Visit their website for lots more eye candy. Yardage is available primarily to the trade, but they will sell directly to clients.
