All You Need Is…

A wise man once said: “the love you take is equal to the love you make.” On a day like Valentine’s Day, this really gives you something to think about. How much love do you have in your life? How much love do you extend to others?

Hopefully, the answer to both questions is “lots.” But if there is a lack of love in your life don’t feel down, there is a simple and wonderful solution: just start giving.

This is the magic of love – the more you give, the more you have. On Valentine’s Day, the ultimate day for love, hearts everywhere should be filled with joy. And if they aren’t yet, they certainly can be soon.

Here are some easy ways to share your love this Valentine’s Day:

Give a gift – For Valentine’s Day this year my best friend and I are getting each other matching heart necklaces. Cheesy, yes; but we’re fine with that. It’s an expression of love and a reminder of our beautiful friendship. Get a little present for someone special and brighten their day.

Call your grandparents – Let your family know you love them, especially grandparents who can often feel lonely. Have a heart-to-heart with them… ask them how they met and how they fell in love; they probably have a lot to say and would welcome the chance to share it with you.

Shower your pets with attention – Pets love attention and affection. Devote some one-on-one time to your pets doing the things they love: take your dog for a walk, scratch your kitty’s back, and put your hamster in the hamster ball. Treat them right and they’ll be your best friend for life.

Celebrate romance with your sweetheart – If you’re attached, do something sweet and romantic together. Keep in mind that it’s the simple things that matter most. Make a homemade Valentine, feed each other dessert, or simply speak from the heart and tell your partner how you feel.

Start a new romance – If you’re single and looking, get out there and strut your stuff! But before you do, take the time to figure out what it is you’re really looking for. That way you’ll be sure to know when the partner of your dreams appears.

Love yourself – This is the simplest way to love, but for many people it is also the hardest. Just treat yourself how you want to be treated and how you deserve to be treated. If you want flowers, buy yourself some flowers. You want chocolates? Get some for me too. If you want an intimate, candlelit, gourmet dinner, set the table for one and cook your favorite recipes. And if you want to be loved, then go ahead and do that too.

Love starts with you. How are you going to share your love today?
