Wellness on Wednesday is all about the natural you!
Walk into any grocery store or pharmacy, and you’ll be bowled over by the variety of choices for natural beauty products. Unfortunately, not all products marketed as “natural” are as pure as they claim to be. Some of these products come packed with hormone disrupters, carcinogens, toxic by-products, and heavy metals—and too many women are unaware of their cancer-causing risks.
So how do you know which products are safe? Luckily, our friends at Natural Solutions have done the research for us with their Beauty With a Conscience Awards. They rounded up over 600 beauty products that that passed Whole Foods Market’s Premium Body Care Standards for quality sourcing, environmental impact, effectiveness, and safety. Only those containing the purest, healthiest ingredients available were even considered.
Next, the entire editorial staff personally tested every single product—from moisturizers and shampoos to makeup and perfume—boldly exfoliating, spritzing, and moisturizing for days on end. All this, for the sake of honest reporting… and maybe for a little bit of fun, too!
With the hard work behind them, Natural Solutions is ready to present their top picks! Yay! Are you ready to meet the winners? Just check here or grab a copy of the October 2008 issue on newsstands now!
The awards are proudly presented during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so that women and their daughters can learn the connection between what they put on their bodies and the impacts products can have on their health.
Natural beauty products have come a long way. Let’s usher in the purest and treat our lovely bodies and beautiful faces to the very best!
